As we head into the penultimate round of Varsity Netball, let’s take look at some of the crazy numbers surrounding the final four teams.
Tuks and NWU are the only two teams to have reached the semi-final stage every year since the inception of Varsity Netball.
Kovsies and NWU will battle it out in a semi-final in Bloemfontein for a third time in the past four years.
The semi-final between UP-Tuks and the Maties will also be their third semi-final meeting in Pretoria since 2014.
The smallest winning margin recorded in a semi-final. That was in 2013 when NWU got the better of Tuks by 46-42.
Zandré Erasmus, goal keeper of NWU, will be playing in her fifth consecutive semi-final. She is the only player to do so.
The biggest winning margin in a semi-final. Tuks defeated the Madibaz by 87-22 last year in Pretoria.
The lowest number of goals scored in a semi-final match. NWU beat Tuks by 46-42 in 2013.
The most goals scored in a semi-final. That was in 2014 when Tuks was too good for Maties, winning by 68-46.
